Gu 2023, Plant, Cell & Environment

edit Edit

The Gu2023 model is a steady-state model of the photochemical reactions of photosynthesis that builds upon previous modeling efforts, most of which consist of ordinary differential equations. It provides a simplification of the state equations, to provide redox relationships between the linear electrton transport (), the fraction of open PSII reaction centres (), the fraction of the plastoquinone pool that is oxidized (), and the fraction of the cytochrome b6f complex that is available for linear electron transfer (). Additionally, it includes the thylakoid ultrastructural dynamics, which have previously been ignored in many non-steady-state models.

Curator's note

This model was validated by reproducing the following figures of the original publication.

Only two figures could be used for validation, because the experimental data used for parameterization are not directly available. Figure 8 shows fake experimental data that resemble the original data, only to showcase the model's ability.
